About Our Founders
Founder and CEO Paul Schreiber started Latico Leathers fresh out of college in 1984. He began selling leather goods out of his trunk in NYC, and soon enough, specialty boutiques in Greenwich Village couldn't keep his merchandise in stock.
Bands like the Grateful Dead eventually became fans of his genuine leather bags, and Latico grew into its identity as a leather goods company with a rock and roll twist.
Paul met his wife Lainie — an uptown girl with a New York fashion background — and the two launched a celebrated women’s line. The unique artisan linings, unexpected leather treatments, and extensive interior organization created during that time would come to define Latico’s signature style.
Each Latico bag is handmade with love by talented artisans throughout South America and India.
Today, our customers refer to us as their “one-stop shop” for quality leather goods. In fact, over 80% of our business comes from repeat customers.
Leather & Material Terms

Full-grain leather
Full-grain leather is the highest quality and most durable type of leather, cut from the very top layer of the hide and left in its most natural state.

Top-grain leather
Top-grain leather is a high-quality type of leather that comes from the upper layer of the hide but is lightly sanded and finished to remove natural imperfections.

Suede
Suede is a type of leather made from the underside of an animal hide, known for its soft, velvety texture and matte finish.
Chrome-Tanned Leather (educational; not used by Latico). This method is very harmful to the environment.

What is Patina?
Patina is the natural sheen, texture, and color change that develops on high-quality leather over time. It is a hallmark of premium full-grain leather and is considered a sign of authenticity, quality, and longevity.
Will the color match the photos?
Close, and never identical. Every Latico Leathers bag is cut from full-grain leather, which keeps the hide's natural grain and shading instead of sanding it away. Two bags in the same color may not match each other exactly, and may not match the photo exactly. That is full-grain doing what it does: no one else's bag repeats yours, and the leather deepens into a rich patina as you wear it.

What is Drop Length (Handle/Strap)?
Drop length is the measurement from the top of a bag’s handle or strap to the highest point of the bag’s body when it is being carried. This measurement determines how a bag sits on your body and is one of the most important factors in comfort, style, and functionality.
A quick way to choose: take a bag you already love, measure from your shoulder to where the bag body sits, and match that number to the drop range.

Latico has perfected heirloom-quality full-grain leather essentials since 1984. Each bag is handcrafted by artisans globally, with nothing manufactured in China. Our leathers are byproducts from the meat and dairy industries that would otherwise be discarded.
Can multiple discounts be used on one order?
Only one promo code may be used per order, and multiple discounts cannot be combined. Free shipping codes cannot combine with other offers.
Can I place a pre-order?
Pre-orders are not accepted, but customers can sign up for back-in-stock notifications on the product page.
Do all products come with dust bags?
Dust bags are available while supplies last. If they are in stock when your order ships, one will be included with your purchase; however, this is not guaranteed.
Can your bags and accessories be customized with corporate logo's and/or individual names/initials?
Yes, our designs serve as wonderful corporate gifts, awards, and incentives through our Corporate Sales page.
How long will my refund take?
Returns are generally processed within 3-5 business days after arriving at our warehouse.
